In the summer of 2011, a group of seniors at Stevenson Manor in Hollywood started strumming away on ukuleles. From their plucky renditions of Tiny Bubbles, HCA’s music program has carried on in similar fashion expanding to 3 more properties in the Antelope Valley. Residents have learned to play music on instruments ranging from traditional like the guitar & keyboard to not-so-traditional such as jaw harps and Himalayan singing bowls. Since there is more than one way to learn, students can practice reading sheet music or simply bang away on a bongo.
